The VR World Congress held their biannual meeting in Luxembourg in conjunction with the 3D Consortium. The focus of the meeting was to introduce the 3D Consortium to interested parties in Europe and to discuss the purpose and direction of the 3D Consortium. Presentations were given by Dr. Ian Thompson, Sharp Laboratories of Europe, Dr. Sadeg Faris, Chairman/CEO of VRex Inc., and Nick Holliman, University of Durham. Dr. Faris presentation was titled “Monochrome, Color, and Now Stereoscopic Imaging: The Inevitable Transition”. Dr. Faris explored the natural transition from black and white imaging to color and eventually to full stereoscopic 3D imaging. In his speech, Dr. Faris stated, “Humans have the natural ability to see in stereoscopic 3D for a reason. Humans will naturally choose imaging that most closely reflects the real world. Stereoscopic 3D will be the next natural step in the evolution of imaging”.

The VR World Congress was held in collaboration with the 3D Consortium, whose aims are to expand markets, create standards and create opportunities for collaboration. VRex Inc in a member of the 3D Consortium.
